The Pittsburgh Pirates (56-53) take on the St Louis Cardinals (56-53) in the first of three games at PNC Park. The Pirates will send Chris Archer to the mound for his debut with the team, while the Cardinals will have John Gant on the hill. Prior to the game, the Pirates optioned Steven Brault to Indianapolis and recalled Dovydas Neverauskas.
