Jameson Taillon rattled off the names like they were division rivals, a dozen years later: The Baton Rouge Tigers — “A fundamentals team,” he added — the squad from Hoover, Ala., the Germantown (Tenn.) Giants.
Maybe it’s no surprise. Taillon still has the pins he exchanged with rival Little League teams, more than 100 of them, attached to cloth in his room. Some of the flashier pins required two of his own to acquire. But the first memory Taillon mentioned from his Little League days had nothing to do with the playing field.
“One of the dads on our teams owns some land in Nicaragua and made his own coffee and cigars,” Taillon said.
