MIAMI -- Pirates starting pitcher Chad Kuhl left in the fifth inning of Sunday's game after he was struck on the inside of the right knee by a line drive off the bat of Marlins second baseman Dee Gordon.
Kuhl rolled on the ground after being struck. He got to his feet and was looked at by the trainer. Kuhl attempted to remain in the game and even made a few pitches to test the knee, but was ultimately pulled for precautionary measures.
Kuhl finished with two runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk over five-plus innings.
