Kingham perfect through 6 2/3 IP as Bucs break out brooms

With his family in attendance, Nick Kingham dominated as he made his major league debut. Kingham attacked the zone, showing excellent command of his primary and secondary pitches.

Perfect through 6 23 innings, DeJong canceled Kingham’s extended segment on SportCenter with a single to right. His final line was 7 IP 1 H 0 ER 0 BB 9 SO.

The bats were relatively silent through the first five innings. But with one out in the bottom of the 6th, Marte reached first base on an infield hit. Down to a 1-2 count, Josh Bell choked up on the bat and followed up with a bloop base hit to right-center, bringing Marte around to third.
