Ke’Bryan Hayes activated amongst Pirates roster moves

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced on Tuesday that Gold-Glover Ke’Bryan Hayes has been activated from the 10-day injured list, and should be back in his role as the club’s third baseman, as the Buccos take on the Detroit Tigers. The injury was for lower back inflammation, and prior to heading to the IL Hayes was hitting .240, and once again showing why he’s one of the top defensive players on the hot corner.

Along with the activation of Hayes came the promotion and activation of catcher Grant Koch, from Triple-A Indianapolis. Following the May 27 contest that saw Joey Bart leave with a left thumb injury, the Pirates needed to add a catcher to the roster, thus adding Koch who is hitting .
