Left-handed reliever Enny Romero has been claimed by the Kansas City Royals. The Pittsburgh Pirates designated Romero for assignment on Monday after he completed his minor league rehab assignment.
The Pirates originally tried to designate Romero for assignment on April 29th, but they were informed that he was injured at the time and needed to be placed on the disabled list instead. He had a left should impingement and didn't appear in a game until June 12th in Bradenton. Romero made just two appearances with the Pirates, allowing five runs (two earned) on seven hits and three walks in four innings.
