ST. LOUIS — Jung Ho Kang sounded appropriately realistic about his prospects prior to Friday’s game.
“It all boils down to how I get used to the pitching style and the speed here,” Kang said through interpreter H.K. Kim after the Pirates activated him from the disabled list. “I know there’s a difference between Triple-A and big league pitchers. It’s all about seeing pitches and getting used to the rhythm and tempo here.”
It took him four at-bats.
Kang homered twice in his first game back, a 4-2 victory against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium.
