Jung-Ho Kang sentenced in DUI case

Pirates third baseman Jung-Ho Kang has been handed a suspended sentence in his DUI case. He received a sentence of eight months in prison, suspended for two years. If he complies with the terms of the suspended sentence, he won’t serve any jail time. When Kang pleaded guilty, prosecutors sought a fine of roughly $13,000, but the court determined that the offense, which included leaving the scene of an accident, justified resolution through a trial. The offense was Kang’s third DUI.

Kang apparently will be able to head to training camp with the Pirates, but the possibility of discipline from the Pirates or MLB remains an unknown factor.
