The Indianapolis Indians scratched Jung Ho Kang from their lineup Wednesday after the Korean infielder was diagnosed with left wrist discomfort.
Kang reported the issue Wednesday morning prior to the Indians’ game against the Norfolk Tide at Victory Field, and he was examined by medical staff. It is unclear what prompted the issue.
“He did not identify one particular mechanism of injury,” Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said.
After tearing up Class A pitching in the Florida State League earlier this month, Kang was promoted to Indianapolis June 11. In seven games for the Indians, Kang has gone 7 for 26 with a double and four RBIs.
