Jung Ho Kang has been “working hard” at Pirate City to get back into baseball shape after receiving a visa to enter the United States for the first time since the 2016 season ended, Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomcyzk said.
“He’s seeing live pitching,” Tomcyzk said. “He’s going basically through his spring training, and he’s going through the ups and downs of spring training. He’s recovering well. He’s seeing live pitching. He’s running the bases. He’s taking ground balls at his positions. And overall, it’s been a very positive experience thus far for Jung Ho.”
Kang was arrested in December 2016 after his third DUI since 2009.
