Josh Harrison Injury: Updates on Pirates 3B's Recovery from Thumb Surgery

Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman Josh Harrison will be sidelined nearly two months after undergoing surgery "to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb" suffered on July 5, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Bill Brink.

The Pirates confirmed the diagnosis and noted that Harrison's timetable for recovery has been pegged at seven weeks after he was originally placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Harrison jammed his thumb while stealing a base in the seventh inning of Sunday's 5-3 win over the Cleveland Indians, but further testing revealed a more serious ailment.
