Pirates utility player John Jaso made a surprise announcement Sunday that he is probably retiring from baseball.
Jaso, 34, spent two seasons with the Pirates and enters free agency this offseason.
“Honestly, this is probably it for me, as far as baseball goes,” he said in the clubhouse after the Pirates’ victory. “I don't know, I've played this game for a while, it's done a lot of great things for me, and I got to meet a lot of really cool people along the way. But I don't know, my mind is going elsewhere and everything like that.
