Joe Musgrove throws 5⅔ hitless, scoreless innings in rehab start

Joe Musgrove did not allow a hit in 5u2154 scoreless innings during a rehab start Saturday with Class AAA Indianapolis.

“I’ve been feeling good,” the Pirates right-hander said in a video interview released by the Indianapolis club. “Better and better each start out. Tonight was the night that I finally felt all the pieces kind of coming together with the delivery and the release point.”

Musgrove, who is on the disabled list because of a strained shoulder, struck out six without walking a batter and threw 60 of his 79 pitches for strikes.

“Fastball command was a big thing, being able to control the inner half to righties and lefties really set up my cutter and my slider,” Musgrove said.
