The Pittsburgh Pirates optioned catcher Jacob Stallings to Indianapolis today. He was recalled yesterday as the 26th man for the game in Williamsport, but did not get into the game.
In other Indianapolis news, Brandon Cumpton has been promoted from Altoona to Indianapolis. He had a 4.50 ERA in 20 innings over 13 appearances with the Curve. Cumpton also had a 1.65 WHIP and a 9:18 BB/SO ratio. He began the season late, making his debut in Bradenton in early June, where he had a 2.53 ERA in 10.2 innings.
John Bormann, who filled in as the backup catcher for Indianapolis with Jacob Stallings gone, was sent back to Bradenton.
