CINCINNATI -- Josh Harrison ripped a triple into the right-field corner of his hometown ballpark, Jordy Mercer narrowly avoided being thrown out at home to score the winning run, and Kyle Crick left the bases loaded to record his first career save in the 12th inning and redeem a bullpen meltdown in the Pirates' 5-4 win over the Reds on Wednesday night at Great American Ball Park.
The Pirates entered the bottom of the sixth with a four-run lead, but the Reds chipped away. Chad Kuhl gave up a solo home run to Scooter Gennett, who hit Cincinnati's game-breaking grand slam on Tuesday, in the sixth.
