PHOENIX — The stats spoke for themselves. Jung Ho Kang had hit .417, put together a 1.406 OPS and homered three times in 24 at-bats for the Bradenton Marauders, the Pirates’ Class A affiliate. After seven games, it was time to move on, and the Pirates officially transferred Kang’s rehab assignment from Class A Bradenton to Class AAA Indianapolis Monday.
“It was just time,” manager Clint Hurdle said.
“We felt that he had seen enough of A-ball pitching,” Hurdle added. “He had seen some velocity, he’d seen some spin, some right- and left-handed, he’d played some third, he’d played some short.
