Indians' Terry Francona, Dodgers' Dave Roberts win manager of the year awards

Terry Francona’s reward for bringing World Series baseball back to Cleveland was his second American League manager of the year award in four years. The 57-year-old manager guided the Cleveland Indians to a 94-win regular season, to an American League title and to the 10th inning of Game 7 of the World Series before the Indians fell to the Chicago Cubs.

In the American League, first-year Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was named the league’s manager of the year. He is the first Dodgers manager to win since Tommy Lasorda in 1988.
