ST. LOUIS — When right fielder Gregory Polanco brushed off his uniform and trotted to the visiting dugout Friday night at Busch Stadium after laying out for his third inning-ending, run-saving and potentially game-saving catch in as many innings, he had this thought:
“Man, I should do that more often.”
Polanco, batting .235, was 0 for 4 in the series opener but stole the spotlight with a diving catch in the sixth, another in the seventh and a sliding catch on a blooper in the eighth.
Reflecting on his performance the next day, Polanco said, “I don’t remember having another game like I did last night.
