It only took three pitches for Gregory Polanco to accumulate three hits and six total bases in his first three plate appearances on Saturday, as the young right fielder once again had a strong game, in the PIrates 5-3 extra innings win. It was the Pirates second consecutive extra inning win against the East leading Mets, and their third win in a row.
Polanco's night was highlighted by a moon shot home run which clanged off the foul pole in right field in the third inning.
The solo home run gave the Pirates a 3-0 lead.
