Nick Kingham (5-6, 4.92) will make his first major league start since Aug. 1 as the Pirates try to take the series against the Atlanta Braves Sunday at 5:05 p.m.. Julio Teheran (9-7, 4.18) will start for Atlanta.
Kingham was hit hard in his last two starts in the majors, allowing 10 runs in four innings of work. He didn’t fare much better in AAA after his demotion, allowing 13 runs on 23 hits in 14 innings, but he has looked good in two bullpen appearances with the Pirates since Aug. 26 (3 IP, 1 ER, 2 K, 0BB).
