This weekend, the Pirates host the Cardinals for the final three-game series between the two in 2019. The Cards swept the last series at Busch back in early August, outscoring the Buccos 20-12.
The Cards are sub-.500 on the road this year (33-35) but the Pirates have lost nine more games than they’ve won at PNC.
Two teams with two different outlooks, the Cardinals are a near certainty to play into October. Both have posted winning records through the last ten games; St Louis is 7-3 and Pittsburgh is 6-4.
After ‘rocking’ the Rockies during the four-game series in Colorado, the Bucs struggled with the statistically-inferior Marlins at PNC this first week of September.
