For two teams that feature some of the strongest pitching in all of the MLB, it was the offense that was on display Monday night in Kansas City, as the Pirates opened a three game set on the road against the Royals.
Following a weekend sweep in Milwaukee, the Pirates were looking to change momentum and grab a series opening win. A.J. Burnett, in his first start since prior to the All Star break, was not very sharp, but was bailed out by the offense of the Pirates.
After falling behind in the first 1-0, the Bucs would bust out in the second, scoring four runs en route to the 10-7 win.
