The Pirates will return home on Monday to face Central division rival Chicago Cubs for a crucial three game series. Two of the strongest LHP in the league will be facing off in the opener of the series. Jon Lester (6-8, 3.26 ERA) will get his second start against the Pirates, following a strong outing in May, in which he allowed just one earned run in seven innings pitched, in the win.
Liriano has faced the Cubs one other time this season as well, a five inning outing in which he allowed three runs on three hits.
