The Pirates will look to move past a disappointing extra inning loss last nighth, their seventh straight loss to the Brewers, on Friday night, behind the pitching of Charlie Morton.
The Bucs failed to take advantage of a St. Louis loss last night and remain a distant 4 1/2 games out of first place. With the Cubs idle, they were able to gain a 1/2 game on the Pirates with the loss. The Pirates currently lead the Cubs by 2 1/2 games for the top wild card spot in the NL. A big four game series looms ahead between the two clubs battling it out for the home field advantage in the one game playoff.
