Future takes the mound in Pirates' intrasquad scrimmage

BRADENTON, Fla. — Before warming up Monday morning, Jameson Taillon had a question for Pirates pitching coach Ray Searage. What, Taillon asked, did the Pirates want to see from him in intrasquad scrimmage?

“I watched A.J. Burnett last year throw all fastballs his first outing,” Taillon said. “[He’s a] guy I look up to and wanted to learn from. I just wanted to see what [Searage’s] thoughts were, if we were on the same page, because it was my idea to really want to go out there and just attack it like a regular-season start and not do anything differently.
