Former Pirates top pick must prove himself in 2025

The Pittsburgh Pirates selected Termarr Johnson with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, and he has gone through the motions in the minors in hopes of joining the big league club someday.

Johnson was able to dip his toes in AA with the Altoona Curve last season, but spent most of the season in High-A with the Greensboro Grasshoppers.

The Athletic’s Keith Law ranked the top 100 prospects in Major League Baseball, where Johnson slotted in at No. 92, which is 68 spots lower than he was a year ago.
