They are not the best father-son combination in baseball history. That’s Bobby and Barry Bonds. They are not even the best father-son combination from our little corner of the world. That’s the Griffeys, Ken Sr. and Ken Jr., from Donora, although it should be noted Junior did most of his growing up in Cincinnati. But Tito and Terry Francona always will be No. 1 on my list. If you are of a certain age and grew up in Beaver County, as I did, Tito Francona provided proof that dreams really do come true. Terry still is living his and is on his way to the Hall of Fame as a two-time World Series champion manager.
