DETROIT -- The Flames claimed forward Radim Zohorna off waivers from the Penguins before Monday's 2 p.m. deadline.
The other four players the Penguins put on waivers -- Alex Nylander, Drake Caggiula, Xavier Ouellet and Dustin Tokarski -- all cleared waivers and were officially assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, bringing the Penguins' training camp roster down to 27 players. That includes forward Jonathan Gruden and defenseman Taylor Fedun, who are both injured and will be re-assigned to Wilkes-Barre once healthy.
The Flames must keep Zohorna in the NHL for the full season or they risk losing him back to the Penguins.
