Finney among cuts, as Steelers trim to 53 players

The Steelers trimmed their roster to 53 players on Tuesday, including releasing veteran offensive lineman B.J. Finney.

Finney, 29, was brought back to the team in the offseason to help bolster its interior offensive line depth. He had left as a free agent in 2020 to sign with the Seahawks, later getting traded to the Bengals. Finney had spent the first four seasons of his career with the Steelers.

Also released were guard Rashaad Coward, offensive tackle Chaz Green and offensive lineman John LeGlue, meaning the Steelers currently have just eight offensive linemen on their roster and signaling the team could be looking for another lineman from among the cuts around the league.
