WASHINGTON — Enny Romero said his shoulder began bothering him two weeks ago. He thought he could pitch through it, but it intensified after his April 25 outing, so he let the Pirates training staff know.
“And then [Sunday] I woke up and I noticed my shoulder was kind of standing out more than the other, and that’s when I went over to [director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk] and the rest of our training staff and said, can you guys check me out,” Romero said Monday in Spanish, with interpreter Mike Gonzalez translating. “We recognized that there was something there and we started doing some check-ups.
