Endy Rodríguez was one of the most highly regarded catching prospects just a year ago, and had put together some good appearances in his rookie season with the Pirates in 2023. 2024 was supposed to be the year where he was to catch full-time, and build upon some of the success he had as a rookie, but an injury in winter-ball resulted in Rodriguez needing Tommy John surgery and missing the entirety of this season. Good news struck on Tuesday however, as it was reported to Endy will be returning to competition, seeing action in a rehab assignment with the Altoona Curve this week.
