'DWTS' to showcase dance moves of more athletes with Pittsburgh ties

Two athletes with Pittsburgh ties were announced Wednesday morning as part of the “Dancing With The Stars” cast.

David Ross, who rode a wave of goodwill through the Chicago Cubs’ World Series effort last fall, played 40 games with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2005. “Grandpa” will turn 40 the day before the show’s premiere and recently took a job with the Cubs’ front office.

NFL free agent running back Rashad Jennings was a freshman starter at safety for the University of Pittsburgh in 2005. He transferred after one season to Liberty University.

Season 24 of ABC’s reality celeb dance competition starts March 20 and has included such Pittsburgh hoofers as MirrorBall Trophy winner Hines Ward, Steelers receiver Antonio Brown, billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban, and Woodland Hills grad and former NFL player Jason Taylor.
