D-backs’ offense explodes in early innings / Bucs fall 9-3

Chad Kuhl just didn’t have it today. He was yanked in the third inning after allowing eight earned runs on eight hits and a walk. The Bucs’ bullpen teamed up to put together seven solid innings of relief; Brault threw three scoreless innings, Rodriguez threw two scoreless, and Feliz allowed one unearned run over two innings.

But, their efforts were for naught as Pittsburgh’s offense couldn’t cover the ground lost in the early innings. Even with apparent veteran hitter Austin Meadows going three for four at the dish, the Pirates eventually fell 9-3.
