Cubs fan seeks response from city for officer's actions

The attorney for the Chicago Cubs fan whom a Pittsburgh police officer slammed to the ground and handcuffed at PNC Park in an encounter captured on camera said Tuesday that he’s seeking some sort of redress for what he called the officer’s “misconduct.”

Phil Turcy of the Chicago firm TurcyChute said he sent a letter Tuesday by both certified mail and fax to Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto’s office and the city’s law department about the incident last Wednesday involving his client, Dimitri Mitalas, 31, of Chicago.

Mr. Turcy declined to provide a copy of the letter. He said his client suffered wrist and back injuries during the incident, which is being investigated by Pittsburgh’s Office of Municipal Investigations and has attracted the concern of the Citizen Police Review Board.
