The Pittsburgh Pirates got an unexpected boost when Jung Ho Kang was allowed re-entry back into the United States to resume his American professional baseball career.
Since starting his “rehab” assignment with the Bradenton Marauders, Kang as excelled to the tune of a 6-for-13 start over his first four games which include two home runs. He has looked to be moving well in the field and on the basepaths.
His hot start has many wondering if he would be in Pittsburgh sooner rather than later. By all accounts, the club will take the long and winding road with Kang, with a repeated stated desire to give him at least a “spring training’s worth” of at-bats in the minors before even considering recalling him to the bigs.
