SAN DIEGO — It isn’t always easy to read Colin Moran, but it’s clear he relishes the big moments.
With the bases loaded in the fifth, Moran pulled a fastball from Tyson Ross over the right field wall. It was the second grand slam of Moran’s rookie season — the first coming in the home opener — and lifted the Pirates over the San Diego Padres, 7-5, at Petco Park.
The Pirates (40-43) eked out their second consecutive series win, taking four of their past six games. They next head to Los Angeles for a three-game series against the Dodgers.
