BRADENTON, Fla. — As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, we don’t know exactly who the Dominican Republic will throw out there today. We do know two things — whatever lineup they write out will probably be a good one, and they’ll face a stiff test with the pitchers the Pirates have scheduled.
Gerrit Cole will start and Tyler Glasnow will also pitch against a Dominican team that includes Starling Marte and Gregory Polanco. The Dominican won the 2013 World Baseball Classic and this year is in the same pool as Team USA, playing in Miami’s Marlins Park. They face each other Saturday.
