Clay Holmes to Serve as 26th Man During Sunday’s Doubleheader

According to Pittsburgh Pirates announcer Joe Block, the Pirates will recall right-handed pitcher Clay Holmes for Sunday's doubleheader in Detroit. Saturday's scheduled game was rained out. The two teams will play a split doubleheader on Easter, with game one starting at 1:10 PM and game two beginning at 6:10 PM.

Due to MLB rules, both teams can add a 26th player for the second game of the doubleheader. If Holmes gets into the game, it will be the Major League debut. The 25-year-old Holmes had a 4.91 ERA in 7.1 innings this spring, allowing four runs on eight hits and four walks, with three strikeouts.
