DETROIT — In Williamsport, Pa., later this month, Andrew McCutchen will be “Cutch.”
On Wednesday, Major League Baseball announced the creation of “players weekend,” which will take place Aug. 25-27, and unveiled colorful alternate uniforms inspired by youth league uniforms and designed to highlight the players’ personalities and passions. Players have the option of using their nicknames on the back of their jerseys, and on their right sleeve they may write the name of a person or organization instrumental to their development.
The Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals will wear the players weekend uniforms for their Little League Classic game Aug.
