Chad Kuhl leaves game due to forearm discomfort

NEW YORK — Chad Kuhl left Tuesday’s start against the New York Mets after four innings because of right forearm discomfort.

Kuhl never had his command Tuesday. He walked two batters in four innings, threw three wild pitches and only 40 of his 73 pitches found the strike zone. He allowed two runs and three hits, and with men on base in the fifth, manager Clint Hurdle pinch-hit for him.

The Mets’ leadoff hitter, Jose Bautista, singled in the first inning. Asdrubal Cabrera drew a two-out walk. Wild pitches moved both runners to scoring position and Wilmer Flores drove them both in.
