Cervelli to help teach his culinary and painting skills to kids

Pirates catcher Francisco Cervelli apparently serves a mean ragu. It’s his paternal grandmother’s recipe, he said, taught to him by his mother.

This morning, Mr. Cervelli will help teach the next generation of culinary enthusiasts at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. The two-hour Cervelli Culinary Craft Camp will bring 30 kids, ages 10 to 12, from local YMCA summer programs to the North Side museum to learn some of the baseball player’s other favorite things: cooking and painting.

“I’m not a professional, but I really have fun,” Mr. Cervelli said before Wednesday’s game against the Chicago Cubs.
