Casey Sadler has been placed on the Indianapolis disabled list with a right forearm strain. The move was made retroactive to his last start on June 22nd. Sadler had the worst start of his career on Monday, allowing ten earned runs on 11 hits, three walks and four homers. He had never allowed more than six earned runs or two homers in a single game. Sadler threw 4.1 innings and had 61 pitches by the end of his outing, so it wasn't a high total.
Considering that he was the probably the best option if the Pirates needed a starter anytime soon, this could potentially be bad news.
