Taillon has allowed three earned runs or fewer in each of his last 18 starts. His last outing was admittedly a grind, but he was still effective as he limited the Reds to one run on eight hits while striking out six over five innings on Wednesday.
Poncedeleon will slide out of the bullpen for a spot start, the fourth of his MLB career. After logging just 3 1/3 innings in his last start on Sept. 1, Poncedeleon threw two scoreless innings in relief on Saturday.
