— Nick Kingham threw five one-hit, shutout innings, but the moment he came out the Indianapolis bullpen had a meltdown of biblical proportions and Indianapolis (0-1) lost to Columbus, 11-4. Kingham wasn’t exactly efficient, requiring 90 pitches, but he fanned ten and walked three against a Columbus lineup that looks really good — Greg Allen, Yandy Diaz, Francisco Mejia, Mike Napoli, Richie Shaffer, Adam Rosales, Brandon Barnes. Unfortunately, Tanner Anderson and Brett McKinney managed to give up nine runs in the sixth. Damien Magnifico then had to bail out McKinney in the seventh.

— Altoona (1-1) had its own bullpen meltdown, blowing a 6-0 lead and losing to Akron, 7-6.
