Not much action today. Indianapolis, Altoona, West Virginia and Morgantown were all off. Bristol had their regularly scheduled game and the continuation of yesterday’s suspended game rained out.
— Stephen Alemais (pictured) drove in five runs as Bradenton (64-53) outslugged Daytona, 13-6. Alemais went 4-4 with a double and is now batting .397 with greatly improved plate discipline since he was promoted three weeks ago. He may present the Pirates with a challenge next spring, as he probably should open next year at Altoona and Adrian Valerio definitely should move up to Bradenton, but Cole Tucker probably won’t be ready for AAA.
