— Indianapolis (56-47) won the first game of its doubleheader with Buffalo, 4-3. The Indians had only five hits, one of them Wyatt Mathisen’s fifth home run with a man on. Austin Meadows and Jason Martin each went 1-3. Tyler Eppler allowed three runs over six-plus innings, on seven hits and two walks. He struck out three. Dovydas Neverauskas stumbled his way to a save after Eppler let the first hitter in the seventh reach. Neverauskas let that runner score and loaded the bases before getting a called third strike on a 3-2 pitch to end it.
