— Clay Holmes failed to survive the first inning in a 4-3 Indianapolis (3-6) loss to Toledo. Holmes gave up an infield hit and a groundball single to the first two hitters, then walked three while recording two outs. At that point he’d thrown 35 pitches, only 17 strikes, and he was done. He was charged with two runs. The Indy bullpen allowed just one earned run over seven and a third innings. Austin Meadows went 1-3 and drove in all three runs with a sacrifice fly and his first HR.
