Cannonballs coming: Logan Hill bombs Akron in Altoona opener

Everybody but Indianapolis had their openers today. The Indians start tomorrow.

— Altoona exploded for a six-run eighth inning, capped by a three-run HR by Logan Hill (pictured), to take a 6-3 lead over Akron, then hung on for a 6-5 win. J.T. Brubaker had a good start, fanning eight over five innings while giving up four hits and two walks. He was charged with three runs, two of them scoring on a Will Craig error. The Curve had only two hits until the eighth and struck out a dozen times.
