Cannonballs coming: Keller struggles in class A but Bradenton mounts big comeback

Very light action today. With the entire Dominican Summer League rained out, only two Pirate affiliates were in action.

— Mitch Keller went to Bradenton (43-41) to get in some work during the AAA All-Star break and he continued to look less than major-league-ready. Keller needed 73 pitches to get through four innings against Lakeland. He gave up seven singles, although most were ground balls, so he didn’t exactly get hammered. Keller walked one and struck out two, and was charged with two runs, one unearned. Relievers Adam Oller and Jordan Jess did get hammered, allowing eight runs over three innings.
