Cannonballs coming: Jameson Taillon throws seven shutout innings

West Virginia was off.

-- Jameson Taillon had another outstanding outing, going seven innings for the second straight time in Indianapolis' (13-11) 1-0, 12-inning win over Durham. Taillon allowed two hits, walked one, fanned three and threw just 89 pitches. He retired 16 straight at one point. It's getting harder and harder to see how the Pirates can wait until June to make pitching changes, with Jon Niese getting worse with every start, the rotation generally not competitive with other contenders, and the team's strategy of making up for an inadequate rotation with a deep bullpen looking like a miserable failure.
